400/1000 stone
Dual-sided. 400 reshapes and repairs, 1000 sharpens.

Two dual-sided whetstones, four grits, a non-slip bamboo base and a clip-on angle guide — everything you need to sharpen at home.

Holding a consistent angle is the hardest part of learning to sharpen. The included guide clips onto the spine of your blade and rests on the stone, so each stroke stays at the same angle.

Lower numbers are coarser and remove more steel. Most knives only need 1000, then 3000 and 8000 to finish.

Everyday sharpening. Brings a dull knife back to sharp.
Refines the edge and removes scratches from 1000.
Finishes and polishes for a smooth, keen edge.
1Submerge the stone in clean water until the air bubbles stop.
2Seat it in the rubber holder on the bamboo base.
3Clip on the guide and use light, even strokes on 400 or 1000.
4Move to 3000, then 8000. Rinse and let the stones air-dry.

With use, whetstones slowly wear a dip in the middle. Rub the included flattening stone across the wet surface every few sessions to bring it back level — so every stroke stays accurate.
The set includes 400/1000 and 3000/8000 dual-sided whetstones, a bamboo base, rubber holders, an angle guide and a flattening stone.
For regular sharpening, start with 1000 grit. Reserve 400 grit for very dull edges or minor damage. Work through the finer grits to refine and polish.
Use water, not oil. Soak the whetstone until air bubbles subside and keep its surface wet as you sharpen.
The included angle guide and non-slip base help you work consistently. Start slowly, use light pressure, and follow your knife maker’s recommended sharpening angle.
Rinse after use and allow the stones to air-dry fully before storing. Use the flattening stone when the sharpening surface becomes uneven.
These stones are intended for straight-edged steel blades. Check the knife manufacturer’s advice first; serrated and ceramic blades require different care.
